Title                           Student Internship and Pathways Facilitator

Description                 WORK SCHEDULE: Teacher hours/year with 10 additional days to be scheduled

                                 before or after the school year

 

DUTIES: The Internship and Pathways Facilitator will be responsible for connecting students with internship opportunities and supporting their successful onboarding, participation, and exit from internships. Internship and Pathways Facilitators monitor student participation in internships and gather feedback from students and employers to continually improve opportunities. Facilitators partner with the District Student Internship Administrator to expand internship opportunities and improve systems for matching students to internships successfully. The Facilitator is responsible for ensuring equitable access to student internships across all students in the school. The Facilitator is expected to dramatically increase the number of students in the school participating in internships.

The Student Internship and Pathways Facilitator’s responsibilities will be:

• Facilitate and arrange job interviews, job orientations, physical exams, etc. between the student and the employer for internships.

• Prepare students for successful job interviews and internship opportunities (explaining what is expected and demanded in the workplace).

• Creates and maintains a smooth and viable relationship between school, student and employer by: monitoring students, frequently contacting employers, and recognizing and addressing the needs and concerns of employers.

• Facilitate conducts initiatives such as career fairs, internship fairs, exploratory field trips, and other events supporting workforce exploration and access.

• Coordinates, as resources allow, transportation and other logistical support for students on internships. • Collaborate with school administrators and counseling staff on student activities related to career interests and exploration.

• Monitor the status of all students on internships and track data on student outcomes post-internship including post-secondary outcomes.

• Maintain positive relationships with external agencies, employers, unions, and community-based organizations.

• Attends regular meetings with the District Student Internship Administrator.

• Arranges work site visits and/or field experience for students.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Licensed as an Educator.

• Evidence of educational leadership.

• Experience with supporting K-12 students in identifying and pursuing post - secondary pathways.
