HMC Maintenance has an outstanding opportunity for a full time day shift Machinery Mechanic. This individual will inspect, maintain and repair mechanical facilities. Perform preventive maintenance and repair on all types of mechanical equipment.  Inspect and test mechanical systems.  Operate machine shop equipment including engine laths, drill press, grinder, milling machine, hydraulic press to fabricate equipment parts.  Perform preventive maintenance and repair on motor vehicles and heavy construction equipment, gas and diesel.  Operate a variety of hand tools.  Assist faculty with fabrication and operation of experimental equipment and apparatus.  Drive service truck as required; load and unload materials and supplies.  May lead and instruct helpers.  May perform work in other trade skills.  Perform related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Full journey status as a Machinery Mechanic by work experience, vocational, or trade school, or apprenticeship programs, or any combination of the above; or, four years of applied work experience. Vocational training may substitute for work experience on a year-for-year basis.

Possession of a valid motor vehicle operators license may be required.

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
