Project manager – Residential construction

Job Summary

EBSCO Industries is seeking a Project Manager to join the Project Team with the oversight of construction projects from start to finish utilizing computer and communication skills as well as working in a team environment with an established and growing residential construction company. This position is with Alys Beach Construction, a residential Contractor located in Alys Beach, FL.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform a key role in project planning, budgeting, permitting, and identification of resources needed
  • Project accounting functions including developing an estimate, establishing the budget, managing the budget, tracking of team expenses, and minimizing exposure and risk in the project
  • Ensure that construction activities progress per predetermined schedule (i.e. using BuilderTrend software)
  • Periodic inspection of construction sites
  • Communicate effectively with the subcontractors responsible for completing various phases of the project
  • Coordinate the efforts of all parties involved in the project, which include the sales team, architects, interior designers, suppliers, sub-contractors and laborers
  • Maintain strict adherence to the budgetary guidelines, quality and safety standards

Job Requirements

  • Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Minimum 15 years of project management experience to include high end residential construction, commercial construction, and renovations/remodels
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with team members, clients, subcontractors, and interdepartmental personnel
  • College Degree, B.A.

Essential Job Functions  

  • Possesses good time management, negotiation, and analytical/problem-resolution skills with respect for co-workers
  • Written/verbal communication for project team coordination (Homeowners, Builder, Designers, Architects, Consultants, and Subcontractors) to address challenges promptly
  • Electronic device competency for usage of computer, MS Surface, and/or smart devices
  • Committed to doing quality work with attention to detail that can leave a paper/electronic trail easily understood by other team members while meeting deadlines
  • Current with new industry trends/ practices and willingly to participate in industry events

Preferred Skills

  • Possess strong mathematical and computer skills. Proficiency with all MS Outlook, Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), scheduling software (i.e. BuilderTrend)
  • Ability to breakdown construction operations into a logical sequence of activities
  • Ability to plan and organize a team effort, as well as work in a team environment
  • Must be able to meet deadlines
  • Effective oral and written communication skills amongst team members, clients, as well as interdepartmental personnel
