St. James Church in Athens, GA is in search of an Assistant Children’s Minister who will work 15 hours per week and report to the Children’s Minister. They must be available to work Sunday mornings, Sunday evenings, and Wednesday evenings. The Administrative responsibilities and duties are: Hire part-time paid nursery staff; manage monthly schedules for same. Ensure the church’s ongoing commitment to and compliance with its Child Protection Policy; work with appropriate staff to ensure all volunteers are properly screened and trained for Safe Sanctuaries. Supervise paid nursery staff and volunteers while on-site; select and supervise “lead” nursery workers; conduct regular training for nursery workers and volunteers. Maintain Nursery Ministry roll, including birthdays, family contact information, etc. Assist Children’s Minister with event planning, ministry goals and facility management. Actively participate in weekly Staff Meetings and Ministry Team Meetings. The most important qualification for this position is a strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ as evidenced by spiritual maturity and a close, consistent walk with Him.
