Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Business and Management Program at Wheaton College (MA) invites applicants for the Diana Davis Spencer Endowed Professorship of Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation at the Professor of the Practice or Assistant Professor. We are searching for two positions, a Professor of Practice and a tenure track faculty at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level.

Successful candidates will teach courses at the undergraduate level including Social Entrepreneurship, Fundamentals of Business (our introductory course where students design and run a business), a First Year Experience course related to social innovation, and other courses which support the academic programs in the Business and Management department.

These positions will be charged with developing a minor in entrepreneurship. The possibility exists to teach a course at the graduate level. Both candidates will also be engaged with co-curricular programming and initiatives related to entrepreneurship that occur throughout the academic year.

As a faculty member in the Business and Management department at Wheaton College, successful candidates are expected to collaborate with members of the faculty on curriculum development and improvement and to contribute to the college through service. A collaborative approach to program planning and active engagement with the department are important.

The Business and Management Program (Business & Mgmt Program) consists of nine full-time faculty in a diverse range of specialty areas including Marketing, Accounting, Finance, Management, Organizational Behavior, Human Resources, Business Analytics, and Entrepreneurship. This successful candidate will share our commitment to student success and contribute in the continuing development of a vibrant, growing business program with an inclusive, innovative, and collaborative culture.
Minimum Qualifications:
Requirements are dependent on rank.

Successful candidates at the Professor of the Practice rank should have a degree in a business-related field from a regionally accredited higher education institution plus a minimum of seven to ten years of experience in entrepreneurship, social impact/innovation, or related fields. A master’s degree is preferred. Secondary emphasis area in marketing/finance/or international business is highly desirable. The teaching load is six courses per year with the additional expectations of academic advising and active participation in the Wheaton community.

Successful candidates for the Assistant/Associate Professor rank must have a Ph.D. or DBA in entrepreneurship or a related field with a completion date by August 15, 2024. Secondary emphasis area in marketing/finance/or international business, full-time teaching experience, and entrepreneurial experience are highly desirable. The teaching load is five classes per year (a 3-2 or 2-3 load) with the additional expectations of relevant scholarly production, academic advising, and active participation in the service to the Wheaton community.

All salary offers must have the prior approval of the Office of Human Resources.

The salary for this position will be commensurate with the qualifications, education and experience.
