King County Metro Transit is currently recruiting for two undergraduate or graduate student Interns or Veteran Fellows to provide technical/database administration and document control services for the Project Controls Office. The Project Controls Office is a work group in the Project Controls, Management & Performance unit. This unit in Metro's Capital Division has over twenty team members and is expanding. They are responsible for performance monitoring, budget, and finance administration for the Division, data management, project administration, contract procurement, and developing process improvements.
The successful candidates will play a critical role in the development and launching of new services as our work group continues to support the growth of King County Metro Transit as we expand service to serve our growing communities where needs are greatest. Ideal start time for interns or fellows is June 2020. The position is expected to work full time hours over the summer and part time hours during Fall and Winter 2020/2021. Metro is open to interns or fellows starting before or after June if schedules align for the intern or fellow and program. Each intern or veteran fellowship assignment will involve a set of customized learning objectives and deliverables that provide hands-on experience assisting with and accomplishing specific work tasks or projects.
Under the guidance and mentorship of a professional Project Controls Office staff, the selected Interns/Vet Fellows will gain hands-on experience by providing technical/database administration and document control services for the Project Controls Office. Document Control/Procurement Position:
Student Internship Candidates
Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program or registration for full-time or part- time classes for the Fall 2020 quarters/semester.
Veteran Fellow Candidates
Will have an equivalent combination of education and experience leading to ability to perform the duties of the position. Veterans who currently reside within King County, AND have left the military within the past five years will be given hiring preference.
Minimum Qualifications for both positions:
