Focus:

We are looking for a seasoned technologist in our Database Architecture practice for our private and public-cloud (AWS) infrastructure and operations domain. This role will leverage their deep technical knowledge of relational /non relational Database architectures to help drive our strategy with maintenance, migrations and efficiency improvements database layer. Database Architects serve as the primary architectural coach for a database operations team and several teams across multiple Agile Release Trains (ARTs), ensuring that team-led design/developement runs in sync with the underlying database platform.

 

 

 

Primary Responsibilities

 

  • Experience designing and developing complex data solutions including integration between systems and environments.
  • Involvement in our most complex technical projects with oversight of the solution as a whole for DB migrations from SQL server/Oracle to AWS aurora Stack
  • Design and plan go forward strategy for DB workloads and its lifecycle.
  • Working knowledge of modern software development practices such as agile methodologies and DevOps.
  • Identifies and consults on moderate-high complexity data structure and/or data content issues and develops effective solutions
  • Lead-by-example mindset to create POC’s for design and architectural requirements.
  • Educating/Mentoring members of the team for go forward strategy.
  • Establish best practices to be used across multiple projects
  • Work on modern and emerging technologies and cloud adoption

 

 

Preferred Skills

 

  • 10+ years experience with Relational [SQL Server, Oracle, MySql, Postgres,AWS RDS] and/or Non-Relational Database implementation [Mongo, DocumentDB], operations and/or solution deployment experience in a business-critical, high-availability context.
  • 8+ years of experience in design and implementation of large-scale data platforms/solutions using major Cloud platforms: Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • AWS certifications preffered.
  • Experience in defining and implementing legacy modernization and migration roadmaps for large scale applications, databases (Oracle/SQL Server to PostgreSQL) and database optimization
  • Technical degrees in computer science, software engineering, or mathematics or equivalent experience.
  • Experience developing database solutions on AWS via Redshift, Aurora, RDS, etc.
  • Experience in database development and coding in various languages (SQL, PL SQL, Python etc.)
  • Excellent knowledge of software and application design and architecture
  • Website/web services as well as traditional IT networking, operations, management, and security experience.
  • Understand and interprete infrastructure requirements such as Networking, Storage, and Hardware Optimization.
  • Creating automated solutions for  deployment, testing and lifecycle of DB workloads.
  • Implementation and tuning experience of Databases including knowledge of Schema Design, Query Tuning and Optimization, and Data Migration and Integration.
