JOIN OUR TEAM

The Oakdale Police Department is looking to add to its leadership team. We want experienced officers looking to promote and/or current police supervisors interested in leading within one of the premier law enforcement agencies in California’s Central Valley.

THE COMMUNITY

The City of Oakdale is a city of approximately 23,000 residents in the heart of California’s Central Valley, about 15 miles from Modesto, at the intersection of highways 108 and 120. Oakdale is a family friendly community, and home to quality schools that rank among the highest in the region. As a gateway to the Sierra Foothills and Yosemite National Park, Oakdale is a hub of recreational activity. We are located between the Bay Area and Sierra Foothills. Our mild climate and gentle seasonal changes make Oakdale an ideal community to enjoy year round. Established in 1871, our historical town has unique charm. The Oakdale Rodeo was the first outdoor rodeo in the Western United States and has held the annual event since 1954. Oakdale earned the title “Cowboy Capital of the World” thanks to the large numbers of Professional Rodeo Association champions that have come from, and call, Oakdale home.

The Oakdale Police Department shares a very strong partnership with the community evidenced by its continued strong participation in National Night Out (NNO) and community policing culture. The Department actively partners with the community on crime concerns and community challenges.
