Post Press Assistant, Cooke Communications NC Greenville Facility Cook Communications North Carolina is seeking someone to work night shift, Tuesday-Saturday. Position Duties To manage the activities of the Post Press Packaging Department to ensure that all company goals related to quality, reliability, productivity and customer service are met. Responsibilities Supervise production in the Post Press Packaging Department so that productivity, reliability and product quality meet or exceed planned objectives and communicate to the Post Press Manger all issues that may affect planned results. Jointly oversee production of daily and Sunday inserted packages with other supervisors and managers, ensuring that both quality and reliability standards are maintained Supervise employees during mail labeling and sortation to ensure all mail is prepared accurately for distribution. Insure the efficient and effective handling of all preprinted products while maintaining both quality and reliability standards. Maximize productivity and reliability by managing production to established plan. Communicate with management on all issues that may impact productivity. Establish a positive working environment and high level of morale by providing leadership, open communication and feedback. Utilize performance management techniques, Provide employee training as needed. Insure environment is optimal for employee communication, involvement and satisfaction as well as safe and clean working conditions. Monitor individual and room trends to insure employee issues are addressed. Communicate as needed with higher-level management on these issues. Adhere to department policies and procedures, including but not limited to standards of performance as well as policies regarding attendance, safety, overtime, substance abuse, housekeeping, forklift operation, etc. May supervise up to 15-20 employees. Perform other duties as determined by the Post Press Manager. Qualifications Related experience with a minimum of 5 years experience in a Newspaper Packaging production environment and 5 years in a supervisory capacity. Must possess sound written and verbal communication skills Must be able to interact effectively with a diverse workforce. Requires good management, leadership and motivational skills in addition to solid interpersonal and organizational abilities. The ability to distinguish audible sounds and visual signals in order to walk about safely in close proximity to heavy industrial equipment is required.
