We have an exciting opportunity for a nurse leader in the role of a Personal Health Services Supervisor with the North Regional Parent Child Health Teams. The North Regional Teams consist of two teams who provide services to families that span the north and eastern parts of King County. Services include the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program and the First Step Program (Maternity Support Services and Infant Case Management). We provide patient centered services to pregnant clients, teens, and families and need a responsive supervisor to support staff and foster community outreach and partnerships.

This is an opportunity to lead two amazing multi-disciplinary teams whose passion is to support parents in having healthy pregnancies and healthy babies. The position will oversee the hiring and daily supervision of Public Health Nurses, Registered Dieticians, Nutrition Assistants, Social Workers, Community Health Workers, Administrative staff and others as appropriate.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Direct supervision of the staff assigned to different services and programs at multiple locations.
  • Hiring, performance evaluations, training, counseling, team building and staff development
  • Lead program planning, implementation, coordination, compliance and evaluation
  • Reinforce program deliverables with reflective supervision in clients’ homes, in the field, at county offices and with community partners
  • Participate in planning, implementing, and monitoring the budget and program requirements
  • Work collaboratively with the community and other programs and agencies to assess the public's needs, and develop program goals and objectives
  • Support and cover management of operations at various sites
  • Participate in the quality and performance efforts
  • Oversee Safety Committee and related activities
  • Coordinate staffing and coverage needs

Required:
  • A Washington State license as a Registered Nurse, and bachelor's degree in nursing science
  • Documentation of current BLS CPR certification with AED training at time of hire
  • Ability to travel between sites on a regular basis


Competitive Candidates Will Have:
  • Advanced training in nursing administration or public health, or comparable experience
  • Demonstrate experience in personnel supervision, and management techniques
  • Demonstrate mentorship skills and effective communication
  • Demonstrate skills in reflective supervision and investment conversations
  • Knowledge of program development, evaluation techniques, and quality improvement processes
  • Demonstrate experience in building and fostering community partnerships
  • Knowledge of occupational health, handling of hazards, and safety principles
  • Skills in interviewing techniques and budgeting techniques and principles
  • Previous experience providing guidance in a community-based program, and/or community health nursing experience desired
  • Experience in working with labor partners
  • Knowledge of NCAST and other nursing assessment tools desired
  • Knowledge of primary care and family planning services
  • Languages other than English
  • Demonstrate experience in multicultural agility

Work schedule and locations: This position is full-time, 1.0 FTE and FLSA exempt. Workdays and hours will be determined at time of hire, may vary based on business needs, and may include some evening and weekend hours. Home sites are Northshore Public Health Center in Kirkland and Eastgate Public Health Center in Bellevue.
