| Job Summary: | This position works with the CTO, hospital finance, and research administration groups in addition to the Cancer Center study teams and Executive Officers in the creation and execution of detailed budgets and billing for clinical research studies that include: budget development and negotiation, study start-up costs, per-subject costs, variable/invoiceable costs for clinical services items or tests, etc. The Billing Specialist will understand in detail clinical research study budgeting methodology, including the Medicare Clinical Trials Policy National Coverage Decision and other regulatory and organizational requirements concerning the billing of study-related patient care. S/he will perform the invoicing process as well as recouping the funded budget items from sponsors, and track the funds that enter and leave the department. |

| Minimum Qualifications: |
Bachelors Degree in a related field and 2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. |
| Preferred Qualifications: |
Background in research budgeting, billing, Medicare, finance, and CPT coding encouraged. Background in oncology research or other investigational research preferred. Clinical Trials Management System experience and SoCRA or other relevant certification also preferred. |
