About this opportunity
Ericsson seeks an HW Make Support (Automation Engineer) in Lewisville, Texas; hybrid work policy w/in commuting distance, who will serve to select cameras, lenses and develop 2D, 3D, and line scan machine vision inspection applications using Cognex or other vision products to support Vision Guidance for Robots & Vision Inspection to validate assembly process.
What you will do:
Work with engineers, product owners, project managers and factory leadership to create smart automation solutions within Ericsson’s manufacturing ecosystem. Define engineering requirements for platform development including production, final assembly, warehousing and material automation & testing. Work with Product Design Units (R&D) and Global Supply Automation forums on designing for automation. Work with Product Managers for SW and HW products in the Industry 4.0 Automation domain and work with partners from manufacturing and Industry 4.0 in Ericsson global organization to define long term automation capabilities. Ensure the site uses state of the art automated processes and technology. Support NPI projects by working to design and build automation solutions for successful introduction of new products, production and test concepts from design phase to volume production. Support the global supply organization in outbound/inbound production transfers.
Requires 10% domestic and international travel.
You will bring:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Vision Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field and 2 years of experience programming 2D and 3D vision systems. Experience to include 2 years programming with Cognex (VisionPro and In-sight) and Keyence; integrating 2D and 3D vision systems with robots; applying robot coordinate adjustments during product assembly; integrating automation systems to develop turnkey solutions for light mechanical assembly and vision inspection; and developing scripts and PLC ladder logic using Allen Bradley or Siemens products.
