Town of Randolph Seeks Superintendent of Public Works.

The Superintendent, under the direction of the Town Manager, oversees the operation of the Highway, Water, Sewer, and Engineering Divisions of the Randolph Public Works Department.  The Superintendent is also responsible to oversee the Town’s interests in the water treatment plant and the associated reservoirs and water supply.  The Superintendent will be responsible for oversight of the Town’s stormwater management efforts under MS4. The position requires the exercise of considerable judgment in the planning and operation of the department.

The position directly oversees the daily operation of 23 employees (currently).  The superintendent implements and oversees the daily direction of the tasks of the employees of the department; including the three members of the office staff and the Town Engineer.  The position takes direction from and is supervised by the Town Manager.

The position requires significant administrative capabilities to manage the payroll, accounts payable, water billing, and other correspondence associated with a top department head position.  Combined budget oversight is in excess of $10 million; to include water and sewer funds. Position requires strong supervisory skills in dealing with personnel matters and appropriately creating and implementing budgets. Position oversees a wide variety of independent contractors hired to work on behalf of the Town, including for snow and ice operations and street paving/improvement projects. Position would require strong technology literacy as the department moves toward technology-based operations.
