Summary: 

Summary:
Provides skilled IS logistics support for the department. Tracks all purchase requisitions and assures that appropriate authorizations are obtained, and proper processes are followed. Takes physical receipt of deliveries from Materials Management and arranges for their distribution. Contacts vendors for quotes and order status. Safeguards and maintains the physical inventory of all hardware and software. Maintains the IS hardware standards in line with our purchasing system. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer services standards of The MetroHealth System.

 

 

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:
1. Contributes to patient safety by supporting the System-Wide programs and policies addressing a safe environment for patients and the reporting of safety concerns to the appropriate individuals.

2. Provides Logistic Support

a. Composing correspondence and other materials related to the assigned area.
b. Maintaining inventory of supplies, submitting purchase orders, and processing invoices; tracking expenses of areas as assigned.
c. Ensuring appropriate Information Services authorizations are obtained and information is entered from purchase requisitions into the purchasing system and other tracking databases.
d. Contacting vendors for quotes and order statuses.
e. Verifying the accuracy of purchases upon receipt.
f. Inputting purchase information into tracking systems so items can be delivered, configured, and installed.
g. Providing documentation tracking for all purchases as well as entering purchases in purchasing system for electronic approvals
h. Safeguarding and maintaining the physical inventory of all purchases.
i. Assisting Information Services personnel with the pickup of purchases and assuring all items removed from staging areas are signed and accounted for.
j. Working with the Materials Management department to resolve any problems with purchase orders.
k. Packaging and processing any necessary returns.

3. Maintains and secures the physical inventory of all computer related equipment and parts by:

a. Maintaining all storage areas for computer equipment and parts. Maintaining quality control and a clean and orderly work environment.
b. Securing all build room and storage areas and ensuring only authorized personnel have access to these areas during normal business hours.
c. Receiving obsolete computer equipment. Assuring that all asset management tags are recorded before preparation for disposal. Preparing equipment for vendor pickup and permanent disposal.
d. Arranging for transport of purchase orders or other inventory between MetroHealth sites. Assuring that items are properly packed for safe transport and the transfer is accounted for through the inventory control system.

4. Manages hardware asset databases:

a. Maintaining asset tracking database for Endpoint Services hardware including creating and maintaining an asset tracking database.
b. Verifying proof of delivery to authorize payment of invoices.




5. Upholds active participation of a support team in working to maximize the effectiveness of the entire team.

6. Keeps abreast of trends, developments, and practices within the Information Systems field by participating in continuing education courses, professional organizations, and seminars, reading current literature, and maintaining professional contacts in the community, and participating in hospital required educational programs.

7. Participates in development and maintenance of automated decision tree (knowledge base).

8. Displays sensitivity to and understanding of various cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

9. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications:

Possesses one of the following education/experience qualifications:
• Associate Degree in Computer Science or related field and two-years of related work experience.
• An industry recognized information technology, telecommunications, or electronics certification and two year of related work experience.
• Four-year relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of degree/certification.
Working knowledge of project management.
Working knowledge of computer/data network, telecommunications technologies, and Windows Operating Systems.
Working knowledge of computer equipment (Computers, tablets, laptops, printers, scanners, fax machines, portable devices, etc.).
Demonstrate proficiency in the use of various software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point.
Self-starter and quick learner, with ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Through previous experience has demonstrated good oral and written communication skills, and superior customer service skills as well as excellent analytical and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Computer Science.
Experience in large enterprise environment that includes multiple site locations with more than 5,000 endpoints.
Experience in purchasing or inventory management.
Experience in retailing and inventory handling.

Physical Demands:
May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating.
May need to sit or stand for extended periods.
Finger dexterity to operate office equipment.
Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.
Ability to see in normal visual range with or without correction.
Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
