Job Summary: |
Perform mammography procedures requiring independent judgment in the application of prescribed ionizing radiation, and to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age specific needs. Understanding of patient positioning, patient anatomy and radiographic exposure factors required for optimal examination performance. Knowledgeable of PACS and EPIC Radiant for patient scheduling, registration and processing. Ensures patient studies are performed in a timely manner and in accordance with quality assurance factors. Demonstrates a supportive and understanding behavior when in contact with customers to include, patients, family members, employees, etc.

Minimum Qualifications: |
AAS in Radiologic Technology or equivalent, NYS license/registration and ARRT in mammography or eligible(must obtain within 1 year of appointment), plus one year of experience preferred. Documented continuing education unit (CEU) compliance and active status in accordance with mammography quality standards act (MQSA) requirements strongly preferred. CPR-BLS certification required at the time of appointment. Must have the ability to travel. A valid NYS drivers license is required. Salary/title level commensurate with qualifications.

Message to Applicants: | This position will require travel through most of New York State. This person will work primarily with the mobile mammography van so when the van is out in the community doing screening clinics, the mammography technologist will need to be on the van doing screening mammography. When not on the van, the technologist is in the office or helping with outreach in the community. When not needed for mobile mammography, this technologist will work at either Wellspring or Women’s Imaging at 550 Harrison Center. |
