Smoking Cessation Education Specialist

Main Campus - Pulmonary

PRN - 20 hours Bi-weekly

Summary: 

Responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, implementing, evaluating and documenting smoking cessation educational programs. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer services standards of The MetroHealth System.

  

Responsibilities:

1. Utilizes a variety of methodologies to identify and analyze ongoing educational needs.
2. Provides education offerings based on department needs, results of quality assurance studies, organizational and departmental goals and the requirements of accrediting agencies.
3. Plans, develops, implements and evaluates educational programs and activities.
4. Consults with departments to plan, develop, implement and evaluate educational offerings and orientation programs.
5. Provides educational offerings to external organizations in the form of courses and workshops/seminars.
6. Utilizes the principles of adult education and group dynamics in the implementation of educational programs.
7. Utilizes cost containment principles when planning and implementing educational programs.
8. Provides input into the departmental budget by recommending the allocation of resources.
9. Utilizes appropriate verbal and written communication skills in order to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
10. Facilitates the change process through implementation of educational programs.
11. Priorities, organizes, coordinates and manages multiple projects and tasks.
12. Participates in quality assurance activities within education and training.
13. Develops, analyzes and maintains comprehensive records and reports of educational programs offered.

  

Qualifications:

Required:
High school degree or passage of a high school equivalency exam.
Experience in adult education and curriculum development

Preferred:
Speaks, reads and writes Spanish proficiently

Physical Demands:
May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating.
May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing.
Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.
Ability to read job related documents.
Ability to use computer
