Job Description | The Department of English at Old Dominion University invites applications for a Lecturer of General Education Literature & Composition. This 10-month renewable appointment begins on July 25, 2024, and includes opportunities for summer teaching. The search committee is especially interested to hear from candidates who can demonstrate an ability and willingness to contribute to supporting professional development efforts toward anti-racism, accessibility, and innovation in our English general education program. We seek applications from candidates who can teach composition and/or literature, with courses assigned based on experience and expertise. Lecturers primarily teach 100-level genre-based composition courses, WAC/WID 200-level composition courses, and/or 100-level literature courses, but may also be called on to teach courses in their area of expertise, dependent upon programmatic needs. The position carries a 4/4 teaching load and service to two departmental committees. |
