CUSTOM MAIDS CAREER

Each year, Custom Maids screens some 1,200 candidates for cleaning positions.

Few applicants are selected, but those who do "make the grade" may look forward to a long and flourishing career with Toronto's most successful Maid Service.

ESTABLISHED IN 1978, CUSTOM MAIDS IS TORONTO'S ORIGINAL MAID SERVICE.
We are the City's oldest and largest residential cleaning service. For 46 years, our quality service has always been in high demand - spring, summer, winter and fall.

Through the years, we have maintained a staff of 60 to 120 residential cleaners, and have never laid off a single cleaner.

Many CUSTOM MAIDS staff-members have been with us 10, 15, 20, 25, even 30 years.

Qualifications

YOU MUST

Be able to provide verifiable references from previous employers

be bondable

receive RCMP security clearance

pass a police reference check

have the legal right to work in Canada

be able to provide valid government-issued photo identification :
Passport, Driver’s License, Ontario ID Card or Health Card

be able to speak, read and write English fluently
(Ontario Grade 9 standard, minimally)

be in excellent physical condition in order to sustain frequent kneeling and bending, and to carry heavy equipment (such as vacuum cleaners) up and down staircases

have experience in a job where physical “hand-eye” coordination is important

have no allergies to dust, mold and/or animals

have no unusual fear of household pets
(cats, dogs, rabbits, reptiles or rodents)

be comfortable using TTC to travel to/from clients’ homes each day

HAVE A GENUINE PASSION FOR CLEANING
and a flare for fine detail

HAVE A VERY STRONG SERVICE ORIENTATION
and a willingness to go beyond the "call of duty" to satisfy clients

BE WILLING TO LEARN THE CUSTOM MAIDS WAY OF CLEANING
and be dedicated to continuously improving your skills.

RESIDENTIAL CLEANING IS ABOUT PLEASING A VERY DISCERNING CLIENTELE. It is only appropriate for those with a very strong "desire to serve others" and a willingness to go beyond the "call of duty" in order to satisfy their clients.

ARE YOU A CONTINUOUS LEARNER?

RESIDENTIAL CLEANING IS A SKILLED TRADE. It is only fitting for those with a genuine interest in continuously improving their skills.

Regardless of how many years of experience you may have, all new recruits are required to complete the CUSTOM MAIDS HOUSEKEEPER TRAINING PROGRAM (involving classroom and practical components). Only those who successfully complete the CUSTOM MAIDS Training are added to our staff.

Once employed, our standards are maintained through an ongoing program of training and supervision. Staff-members are expected to continuously improve their techniques, time management skills and knowledge of cleaning products.

At CUSTOM MAIDS, we are all "learners." We want to get better and better, month after month, year after year. We have no place for "anointed individuals" who already "know it all."

To us, the ideal candidate for employment is one who comes to us with years of prior cleaning experience and verifiable references.

However, if you feel that you have the necessary "character" for the position, we encourage you to submit your candidature.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

CUSTOM MAIDS STAFF-MEMBERS :

Work INDEPENDENTLY, not in teams & clean 2 homes a day (within Toronto's city limits)
Work 6 to 8 hours each day (either Tuesday through Saturday OR Wednesday through Sunday)
Have 2 CONSECUTIVE DAYS OFF each week
Are FREE EVERY EVENING.

OUR SERVICE BOUNDARIES ARE :

North to Steeles, West to Etobicoke,

East to Scarborough & South to Downtown.

We tailor a schedule in YOUR part of the city.
