FINANCE ACCOUNTANTSPECIALIST

The Iowa County Finance Department is seeking applications for a full-time (40 hrs./wk.) Accountant Specialist.   Essential duties include a strong emphasis in accounting tasks; including payroll processing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and similar duties.  Hours are 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Mon.– Fri., Starting pay is $18.87/hr. - $20.97/hr. and a generous, comprehensive benefit package is provided.

Minimum qualifications include but are not limited to the following: two-year degree in accounting or business accounting related educational background with preference for a four year degree; 4 years of office experience that includes bookkeeping, accounting, and personal computer operation tasks; or equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.   Must be organized, strongly self-motivated and require minimal supervision.   Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, and Powerpoint).   Familiar with a wide variety of computer software and office equipment including 10-key. Applicants are subject to a criminal background check.
