The PBX Switchboard Operator answers all incoming telephone calls, direct calls to appropriate areas, relaying emergency messages; answering emergency telephone calls (Medical and Facility Emergencies, Stats); overhead paging staff, announcing various alerts and information over the paging system; contacting medical staff, nursing, and other CH personnel as necessary and directing them to locations where they are needed; reporting telephone problems, basic pager troubleshooting and changing batteries as needed. Provides Help-Desk type functions and operates a call center during a disaster within the incident command center. Performing other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: One year of experience operating a telecommunications operator workstation/console. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted, must pass a medical terminology test with a grade of 75%.
