Principal Architect-Wireless Technologies Responsible for CableLabs' efforts related to next generation wireless technologies contributing to the wireless ecosystems while driving internal and external wireless initiatives across SDOs, forums and regulatory bodies. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (or foreign equivalent) with focus on Electronics and Telecommunications plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or a related position. The 5 years of experience (may be gained concurrently with above experience) must include: RF propagation across wireless spectrum (0.4 GHz 100 GHz), RF and traffic measurement, channel modeling; wireless technologies including Wi-Fi, WiMAX, LTE, LTE Advanced, WCDMA, HSPA+, GSM/TETRA, fixed PTP and PMP (0.4 to 40 GHz); active wireless standardization work including 3GPP, IEEE 802.11x, 802.16x; developing test plans for end-to-end RF systems, RAN and Physical layers and conducting and leading test and measurement campaigns; cellular and fixed access test equipment including spectrum analyzers, high speed digital oscilloscopes (e.g. eye diagrams), IxChariot and iPerf, RF power meters; Link Level Simulators (LLS) and System Level Simulators (SLS) for mobile and fixed RF systems, and related supporting protocol coverage and traffic modeling tools including Matlab, Excel, ns-2, OPNET. Must have working knowledge of the following: wireless spectrum and telecommunications regulatory policy; advanced wireless technologies including space diversity (Massive MIMO, COMP, BF), ICIC, modulations (SC-FDMA, OFDM/OFDMA, Single Carrier) and supporting coding technologies including turbo and convolutional turbo coding, Viterbi schemes. Must have 2 granted patents or 2 pending patent applications related to advanced wireless technologies. 20% travel required to unanticipated locations in the U.S. and abroad.
