HISTORY OF ACME TOOLS

Acme Tools has been helping contractors, woodworkers, agriculture professionals, and do-it-yourself homeowners build the future since 1948, when we started as a small electric motor repair shop in downtown Grand Forks, ND. We have since grown into a nationally recognized tool & equipment retailer both in-store and online. We still have a lot of building to do - grow with us and do your best work!

Over the past 70 years, Acme Tools has grown into the large, family-owned company we are today with locations in North Dakota, Minnesota, and Iowa, as well as an industry-leading online store with over 50,000 products, www.acmetools.com.

Acme Tools North Dakota

Home to our flagship store, corporate office, as well as equipment and online hubs, the North Dakota stores in Grand Forks, Fargo, Minot, Bismarck, and Williston, Acme Equipment, online distribution center, and our corporate office service the entire state (and nation online!) with a selection of high-quality power tools, hand tools, cordless tools, equipment, and more. As the premier tool & equipment retailer in the upper Midwest, Acme Tools & Acme Equipment are authorized distributors and service centers of many sought after brands such as Milwaukee, DeWalt, Makita, Kubota, and more.

Acme Tools Minnesota

For over 12 years, Acme Tools has been servicing metro and rural areas of Minnesota with stores in Duluth, Bemidji, and Plymouth (Minneapolis, MN suburb). We provide woodworking tools, concrete tools, metalworking tools, and more for weekend warriors and contractors alike. Our tools have been used to build major professional sports venues, hospitals, Fortune 500 corporate offices, and more throughout the Land of 10,000 Lakes and beyond.

Acme Tools Iowa

Acme Tools serves Iowa with stores in Cedar Rapids and Des Moines. Both locations are unique for being two family-owned businesses – Puckett Tools from 1955 and Acme Tools from 2004 onward. Both Iowa locations stock an extensive selection of tools for professionals and DIY-ers that have been a part of major building, agriculture, and industrial projects throughout Iowa.
