Job Summary: (85%) Carry out high quality research and maintain a good publication record in peer-reviewed journals. Endeavor on a continuing basis to fund research from extramural granting agencies. Areas of special interest are but not limited to: (1) Pharmacology (such as molecular, cellular or systems pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, pharmacogenomics, toxicology, etc.); (2) drug development (such as new approaches to drug discovery, chemical biology, drug delivery, preclinical evaluation, etc.); (3) cancer research (such as cancer biology, cancer cell signaling, cancer stem cells, cancer experimental therapeutics, etc.); (4) cardiovascular science (such as electrophysiology, cardiotoxicity, remodeling, stem cells, etc.); (5) neurodegeneration (such as proteinopathy, cell stress, metabolic and signaling abnormalities, etc.). Consult and collaborate with colleagues to facilitate research efforts.
(10%) Offer clear and effective instruction within your area of expertise to students in College of Medicine and Graduate Studies; Offer research training to medical, graduate and postdoctoral students.
(5%) Participate in governance, curriculum development and other forms of academic service, by serving on Departmental, Institutional and Professional committees as appointed or elected. Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. and/or M.D. (or equivalent) degree and relevant postdoctoral experience; strong publication record; track record of grant funding
