Controls Engineer

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field, and minimum of 5 years technical experience and 3 years PLC and HMI programming in a related field.
• Assembly and production experience is preferred. Experience with machine commissioning and providing remote onsite support. Experience setting up and maintaining common industrial networks. Programming experience and basic knowledge of electrical and electronic systems preferred. Ability to work within a team.

Profile

Technical and administrative skills:

• Programming PLCs and HMIs.
• Knowledge of electrical and electronic systems.
• Ability to design/establish manufacturing processes.
• Managing ability and skills to analyze problems.
• Ability to work on 460V systems.
• Perform circuit diagnostics.
• Ability to program AC Drives and Servos.
• Prefer mechanically inclined.
• Ability to quote projects.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

Computer and Technology Skills:

• Use of PLC programming software. (Automation Direct, Rockwell/Allen Bradley, Siemens..)
• AutoCAD skills to design and draw electrical schematics.
• Use of HMI development software.
• Use of Microsoft Office Suites software.

Other Requirements & Working Conditions:

• 50% travel time throughout the year.

• The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing. 
• Ability to respond to common inquires or complaints from customer, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. 
• Ability to effectively present information to management. 
• The ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.

• The ability to speak clearly so others can understand you. 
• Ability to speak, write and communicate in English required. 
• Ability to speak, write and communicate in French is a big plus.

Salary:

• $70,000 to $90,000 annually depending on experience.
