Map Room Technician

The Clark County Engineer's Department seeks to fill a Map Room Technician position.

The starting rate of pay is $13 - $17 per hour and will be required to complete a 180 calendar-day probationary period. Work hours are generally 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in performing the essential duties outlined in this Notice of Vacancy.

• At least 3 to 5 years of surveying and mapping or significant combination of formal training and experience preferred.

• Ability to read and understand deeds, surveys, and legal descriptions.

• Knowledge of spatial systems and geographical orientation.

• Basic knowledge of the County’s GIS Program and standardized software including ArcMap and ArcView are preferred.

• Knowledge of various types of surveys traditionally submitted for review, and knowledge of surveying software such as Traverse PC or AutoCad for use in performing mathematical closures of new boundary surveys.

• Ability to manage and resolve conflict in a professional manner.

• Excellent oral and written interpersonal communication skills.

• Outstanding customer service skills.

• High School diploma or equivalent.

• Must pass criminal background check.
