Position Summary

The Manager for UH Digital Health operates under the direction of the VP Ambulatory Operations/Digital Health to proactively lead the transformative health care delivery program and growth of the multi-million dollar Digital Health Services at University Hospitals Cleveland.  The Manager collaborates with the VP and Digital Health Advisory Council to identify, implement and optimize UH Telehealth strategies, initiatives and programs aligned with UH major strategic goals.

 

Essential Duties

  • Operational focus to develop, implement and optimize digital health programs and initiatives
  • Manages, oversees, and facilities all clinical, technical, business and regulatory activities around the Telehealth program(s).
  • Works collaboratively with Telehealth teams and across providers, key service lines, UH departments to further develop, implement, optimize and expand UH digital health/telehealth services 
  • Collaborates across multiple departments (including but not limited to marketing/Ventures/IT) to advance consumer-facing technologies and operational processes.  
  • Identifies budgetary source of funding for each project and develops business plans for new Telehealth opportunities.
  • Develops and manages project plans: including key deliverables and resource requirements.
  • Develops and monitors performance/outcome metrics and conducts analysis of existing Telehealth programs and services. Makes recommendations to management for alternative methods to enhance costs efficiencies, reassess the program’s strategic direction, productivity, improved process performance and capital utilization. Tracks utilization of Telehealth encounters.
  • Monitors compliance with regulatory agency standards and requirements. Develops and maintains policies and procedures that ensure compliance and mitigate risk. Keeps abreast and is knowledgeable of applicable regulations and funding opportunities as well as standards to aid staff in achieving compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Collaborates with direct supervisor to develop, manages budget for the Telehealth program.
  • May work with vendors that are engaged and/or may be associated with UH digital health programs.
  • Collaborates with Medical staff and patients to facilitate safe and effective clinical consultations. Arranges training of clinical staff in the proper use and operation of Telehealth equipment, specialized clinical equipment and accessories in order to facilitate successful clinical consultations.
  • Expected to meet with stakeholders throughout UH System, including medical centers, health centers, physicians’ offices and other locations, as directed by Digital Health initiatives

Education/Expertise:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business/finance, healthcare administration or related healthcare field, required.
  • Master’s Degree in business, healthcare administration or related field recommended
  • Significant knowledge, experience and expertise with computer applications (Windows, Outlook, IDX, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

 

 

 

 

 

 

Required Credentials, License and/or Certifications:

 

 

Experience & Knowledge:

  • 5 years of progressive healthcare experience
  • Experience in assessing market opportunities, implementing, operationalizing, and optimizing programs to respond to such opportunities
  • Knowledge and experience with CMS/Joint Commission standards and other regulatory and accreditation requirements

 

 

Special Skills & Equipment Knowledge:

  • Relationship development skills across matrix environment including but not limited to providers, operational and service line leaders. 
  • Knowledgeand experience of healthcare business analysis and industry practices.
  • Knowledge of telehealth trends including clinical applications, reimbursement, and technology.
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare trends, finances, provision of care and health care delivery system
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills to gather and assess data and generate meaningful strategies for problem resolution
  • Demonstrated management and effective leadership skills
  • Proven fiscal management abilities including budgetary control, expense reduction and new revenue generation
  • Superior interpersonal skills, communication and presentation skills
