Job Summary: Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the Mental Health Therapy Aide is responsible in a support role for the care and treatment of psychiatric patients.  The Mental Health Therapy Aide functions as a participating member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team and assists in the implementation of treatment plans. May perform a variety of tasks related to the care, nurturing, treatment, education, socialization, habilitation, recovery, healing, and support of individuals diagnosed with a mental illness. Incumbents support, instruct, and assist individuals in developing the necessary skills to attain personal goals, live, be educated, work, and socialize successfully in the community.
Minimum Qualifications:

New York State Department of Civil Service Eligible List or eligible for transfer.

Work Days:

Schedule is based on a 40 hour work week. Evenings, every other weekend and some holidays.
