Pamplin Media has an immediate opening for a full-time General Assignment Reporter at one of their 20 community newspapers.

Attributes of a good community general assignment reporter include: motivated, self-starter, organized, attention to detail, patience, flexibility, prolific writer, team player and understands the importance of getting unbiased correct information in stories.

We are looking for someone with strong writing and editing skills, and is able to meet deadlines. Skill in page design using InDesign, photography, and social media knowledge are essential.

The perfect candidate for this position would have experience writing for a newspaper, plus a bachelor’s degree in journalism or equivalent combination of experience and education. Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license and insurance.
