  • Responsible for the safe, effective, and cost effective use of medications through the application of specialized knowledge, skills, and professional judgment. The pharmacist serves as a patient advocate when planning and implementing pharmaceutical care by considering the patients disease conditions, background, need for understanding and participation in drug therapy in a fiscally responsible manner.
  • These activities occur in all aspects of pharmacy practice including adult and pediatric inpatient areas, operating room pharmacies, ambulatory oncology and outpatient services ie., Bolwell Pharmacy.
  • The pharmacist is legally responsible for the review and approval of all activities related to the dispensing of patient specific pharmaceuticals pursuant to a valid prescription or medication order from a practitioner as defined in ORC 4729, 4715, 4731, and or 4741.
  • Essential Duties:
    • Accurate order verification and dispensing.
    • Minimize order turnaround time.
    • Medication monitoring and documentation.
    • Documentation of interventions.
    • Documentation and performance of medication reconciliation.
    • Inventory control and adherence to Hospital Formulary policies.
    • Adherence to Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures.

  • Bachelor Degree
  • R. Ph - Pharmacist - Registered 
  • Previous hospital experience with emphasis on computerized unit dose, sterile products, and patient focused clinical skills preferred.
  • Good communication skills are essential.
  • Computer and office equipment, automated compounding systems.
