UW Medicine Payroll Services has an exciting opportunity for a FISCAL SPECIALIST 2

This position supports the Medical Centers Payroll Services and provides frontline support for the processing of payroll using Workday and Kronos.  The duties for this position include:
•Act as the main point of contact for assigned departments within UW Medicine for timekeeping, absence and payroll processing issues and inquiries
•Provide day to day payroll support to leadership and employees of the assigned UW Medicine departments

•Provide extensive insight and direction related to Timekeeping within the Kronos system that includes:?Review and monitor time input
?Absence review and correction
?Historical corrections
?Independently work with department Timekeepers, Supervisors, and Managers to clarify reported hours versus hours paid
?Reconcile 40 hour/80 hour, and/or 160/240 hour FTE salary to ensure compliance

•Provide extensive insight and direction related to Payroll transactions within the Workday system that includes:?Payroll review and inputs
?Absence review and corrections
?Overpayment calculation and recovery
?Retroactive Payments
?Payroll Adjustments
?Final Payment at Separation

•Provide clarification to employees and managers about paychecks, payroll policies,  procedures and union contracts

•Contribute to an outstanding customer-service environment including strong collaboration with other team members, Human Resources and the Integrated Service Center

•Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:
•Two years of experience at a level equivalent to Fiscal Specialist I AND 15 quarter hours or 10 semester hours of college level accounting, or equivalent education/experience.

ADDITIONAL DEPARTMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
•Experience with labor union contracts

DESIRED:

•Three years of experience working in a payroll related role, including working knowledge of key payroll concepts

•Experience with Kronos and Workday
•Effective time management skills
•Demonstrated teamwork skills
•Ability to work cooperatively with peers and managers
•Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills
•Excellent written/verbal communication skills
•Proficient in Microsoft Office
