The Solid Waste Division (SWD) of King County Department of Natural Resources and Parks currently has an opening for a Capital Project Manager III position, providing an opportunity for talented leaders, team-builders, and communicators to serve the public and the environment of King County. The Capital Project Manager III position resides within SWD’s Centralized Project Management Unit (CPMU). The person in this position will work independently with limited general day-to-day oversight as well as work closely with senior project managers to plan, design and implement project management plans and construction management plans to complete major capital projects. Projects may include landfill area development and closure; recycling and transfer stations, and operational enhancements.
The position requires competencies in project management; contract administration; schedule development and analysis; cost estimating/analysis; performance monitoring and reporting; advanced project risk management; communication and leading project teams.

Work Location: This is a permanent remote working position. However, there will be an expectation to various worksites throughout King County as needed for your work.
Work Schedule: This career service position has a 40-hour workweek, Monday through Friday, with some evening and weekend work occasionally required. This position is exempt from FLSA provisions and is not overtime-eligible. The position is represented by PROTEC 17A.
