Imports Inc. is a locally owned company operating multiple businesses in the Vail Valley since 1993. Business operations currently include Valbruna, a clothing retail store in Vail, Mangiare, an Italian food market in Minturn, Hotel Minturn and the Minturn Inn and importing and distribution of apparel in North America. We are looking for a motivated individual to join us in the Accounting/Bookkeeping department, reporting directly to the company Owner and to Finance Manager/CPA. Job description and skills listed below.

Job Responsibilities:

- Maintaining records of financial transactions by establishing accounts; posting transactions; and ensuring legal requirements/compliance

- Reconciling monthly credit card and bank statements

- Executing sales tax computations and timely payments

- Developing and implementing bookkeeping policies and procedures

- Maintaining subledger accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions

- Entering/paying bills

- Collecting outstanding receivables

- Balancing subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries

- Organizing/filing of historical data

- Preparing periodical financial reports as needed

- Complying with federal, state, and local legal requirements for all legal entities

Qualifications / Skills:

- Developing Standards

- Analyzing financial information to help management decision making

- Reporting Research Results

- Data Entry Skills: attention to detail and accuracy

- General knowledge of GAAP/basic accounting principles

- Self-starter / Motivated Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

- QuickBooks Desktop experience

- Excel proficiency

- Bookkeeping experience
