Main Functions

Program metrology equipment such as CMM, KEYENCE machine, and vision systems. Perform inspection per drawing requirements.

This position requires access to information controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), the successful candidate must be a "U.S. person" as defined in the ITAR and EAR (which generally means (i) be a citizen or national of the United States; or (ii) be a lawful permanent resident of the United States; or (iii) have been admitted to the United States as a refugee, or have been granted asylum, as specified under applicable law.

Typical Duties

  • Program and operate the CMM
  • Follow procedures, work and inspection instructions in the job orders
  • Perform inspections using CMM, handheld instruments and templates
  • Collaborate with Production, Receiving Inspection, and Purchasing when parts are found out of tolerance
  • Document results of inspections using First Article Report AS9102, Fralock Dimensional Report, copies of CMM report or written results in the job order
  • Issue Certificates of Conformance (COC)
  • Maintain CMMs and inspection tools, and inspection stamps are in good condition.
  • Assist Quality Inspectors with in-process inspection of machined components as necessary
  • Develop and monitor continuous improvement programs aiming to reduce the number of defects, and improve the overall quality of products
  • Review engineering changes, product releases, and recommend gages and equipment needed to ensure parts meet tolerances and specifications
  • Manage interactions with Fralock personnel for quality related issues

Required Skills

  • PC literate (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, e-mail)
  • Knowledge in blueprint reading basic geometrical tolerances; use of handheld instruments and templates
  • Good communication and presentation skills both oral and written
  • Strong initiative, high energy
  • Technically oriented

Preferred Skills

  • 3-5 years CMM programming experience
  • Thorough understanding of GD&T and blue print reading
  • Knowledge in calibration
  • Experience in aerospace, medical or automotive industry

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma

Experience Requirements

  • 3 years minimum in a quality/inspection related field

  • Must be able to lift a maximum of 25 lbs.
