Job Description

 

Applications Architect sought by 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment LLC in Los Angeles to achieve organization goals by defining, integrating, and upgrading a comprehensive architecture to support Oracle Cloud applications.  Lead Application Development teams in an agile or hybrid iterative environment, including projects involving CRM and Planning System and API Development in a Java / Oracle environment.  Provide support to the business unit(s) in all phases of the project life cycle for small to large projects, including post-production support and ongoing customer support.  Analyze current business processes to ensure alignment with system capabilities.  Serve as a liaison to the user community.  Continuously gain an understanding of the customers’ operations and how systems are used in support of their operations, transferring knowledge to users and other members of the team.  Oversee 2 lower level subordinates consisting of Senior Software Developer and Software Developer.

 

 

 

Qualifications

 

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field, and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate applications architecture or related experience designing and developing applications using Java technologies.   

Experience must include: 1) Object-oriented design, design patterns and annotation-based programming such as IOC, DAO, MVC; 2) Using Spring, Hibernate and other Java frameworks to deliver high performance applications; 3) Software Architecture, Software Design, Network Design and Implementation, Presenting Technical Information, Java, Java Beans, Java Servlets, JavaScript, Web Programming Skills, Developing Budgets, Project Management; 4) Technical management experience in a high-technology environment; and 5) Creating process flow diagrams and flowcharts using Visio or similar charting tool.

Also requires background in: 1) JUnit, JDocs, Maven, SVN, Log4j/slf4j, Eclipse, TOAD, Message Queuing, JSON, Java Script, JSP and Servlets, AJAX and Web Services (SOAP and Restful); 2) Relational database concepts and database management systems such as MySQL, Oracle; and 3) Development methodologies (SDLC, Agile, Scrum) and source control systems (Git, TFS).
