Summary: 

Sets and oversees the MetroHealth System (MHS) Surgical Supply inventory strategy, policies, objectives, and initiatives. Directs management in 24 hours, 7 days a week materials management operation in the Operating Room (OR) and procedural area settings for Main Campus and Ambulatory Surgery Centers. Oversees all aspects of the inventory control process for supplies, implants, and instrumentation. Develops and deploys annual goals in support of the strategic vision of the overall organization. Provides overall strategic planning for proper staffing and support of the organization, along with supporting Supply Chain leadership in goal achievement. Works collaboratively with medical, clinical, and non-clinical staff and leadership to develop, maintain, and continuously improve programs, inventory systems, and processes to ensure compliance and improve customer satisfaction. Works collaboratively with the Director of Sourcing/Purchasing and Director of Materials Management to support best practices within the overall supply chain management function

 


Qualifications:

Required: 

Meets one of the following: 

• Master’s degree with two-three years of experience working in supply chain warehousing, inventory, distribution, or project management. 

• Bachelor’s degree and seven years of healthcare supply chain warehousing, inventory, distribution, or project management experience 

• Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in addition to the experience stated for a bachelor’s degree. Hospital or Healthcare Experience. 

Demonstrated leadership skills. 

Excellent interpersonal skills. 

Proficiency in the use of MS Office software packages. 

Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds. 


Preferred: 

Master’s Degree in a related field. 

Three to five years of experience in a hospital environment. 

Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) through the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) or Certified Material & Resource Professional (CMRP) through the Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (SMRP). 

Experience implementing and using Lean/Six Sigma standards. 

Strategic Planning experience. 


Physical Demands: 

May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating. May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing. Ability to communicate face-to-face, via phone, email, and other communications. Ability to read and comprehend job-related documents. Ability to use a computer.
